Egypt
Ancient Egypt was a civilization that originated along the middle and lower reaches of the Nile River, and that reached three eras of pharaonic splendor in the periods called: Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, and New Kingdom.
Its territory also encompassed, at different periods, the eastern desert and the Red Sea coastline, the Sinai Peninsula, and a large western territory dominating the scattered oases. Historically, it was divided into Upper and Lower Egypt, to the south and north respectively.
